CCCA Racing in 2020

Notice to Competitors

In view of the restrictions and uncertainty caused by COVID-19, and following the RYA example, CCCA racing will not commence until 31st May at the earliest. CCCA will continually monitor the situation and liaise with its club and class representatives to ascertain when it is safe and logistically feasible for the organising clubs to run racing. CCCA will then issue a Notice of Race and later Sailing Instructions for the revised season, which may be extended until the end of October. We intend to provide at least two weeks’ notice for the first race, enabling most owners to keep their boats ashore until that time. Of course, government advice may change at any time in the future, so we may need to cancel or postpone at short notice.

In order to receive such communications and amendments promptly, please register for the season’s racing as usual at www.cowesharbourcommission.co.uk/ccca and provide email addresses for anyone else associated with your boat who may wish to be kept informed of developments. Please do this as soon as possible and no later than 30th April. Official notices will be emailed directly to those registered email addresses and class representatives, posted on the CCCA Notice Board at  www.cowesharbourcommission.co.uk/ccca and posted on the Team App. There will be no charge to register; race fees for 2020 will be charged on a per-day basis at the end of the season.

Stay safe. Hope to see you all on the water soon.

Giles Peckham

Chairman, CCCA
